This auction is for a 1923 hand written letter from Rev. W.O. Stephen of Oxford, Alabama to his cousin. He writes that his wife, Bessie, has been a bed ridden invalid for the past 5 1/2 years (we have Bessie's 1897 letter to this man on their anniversary on auction now". He also writes of many relatives that are dead, he goes on to write "THE GERMANS SEEM TO BE ABLE TO DO WONDERFUL THINGS IN SCIENCE, BUT THEY DO NOT SEEM TO BE READY FOR REPRESENTATIVE FORMS OF GOVERNMENT. IT APPEARS FROM ALL REPORTS THAT NATIONAL RELATIONS IN EUROPE ARE VERY UNSETTLED YET.". Letter measures 5 1/2" by 8 1/2" and it has fold creases, but overall it is in excellent condition.
